Considering the high flexibility of the imagecache module, could this project be merged with that or piggyback off it? There are plans (and a section in the module's code) to introduce watermarking into imagecache. It would be good if these two modules could merge or combine forces.

Just a thought.

I don't mind it if the imagecache maintainer (dopry?) wants to take my code and merge it in imagecache.

However, the need for a standalone watermark module is still there, since people may want to use just the image module, and not the imagecache, so we do not want to force more dependencies and hence complexity.
