I got the google sitemap module about 6 months ago for my google 4.x install. I had all kinds of problems because I had over 10,000 entries - which google wouldn't accept (and it kept timing out and tying up mysql anyway). I applied the patch that was available that made google sitemap break down the sitemap into multiple maps - I did 1,000 entries per map for mine with a single main reference map. This worked GREAT.

Then recently - I upgraded this site to Drupal 5.1 and saw that XML sitemap replaced google sitemap module. Now I get get google sitemap errors again and it times out as well (when anything tries to access the sitemap). I viewed the settings, and the code, and I don't see any way at all to break down the sitemap into chunks using xml sitemap like you could with google sitemap.

Does anyone know how to do this - or when this feature will be available? I wouldn't have upgraded to drupal 5.1 if I'd known - now my sitemap is useless and I've had a 40% drop in traffic.

thx!
