Should have a mechanism for moving node comments (changing parent node). Parent node does not seem to be exposed in edit form -- views output of the field often renders "0" improperly/erroneously.

crea commentedThis should go into a separate module. Actually there's a big demand for forum moderation module, to be able to mass move comments between threads.
1kenthomas commentedSelf-assigning, then. PS: also should record changes.

doitDave commentedHi all, subscribing to this request and raising to major (as well as "needs work") as this is a _very_ important and I would also say: basic feature for this very cool project, making it a great base for add-on modules. Once this feature is working properly, the sky may be the limit for building a really cool nodeforum extension which allows moving forum threads and branches etc. Thus I would say there is a real need for this. BTW, if help is needed, let me know, I would probably involve myself if desired :)

crea commented"needs work" is a status for existing code. There's no code yet so the status should be "active". Changing priority for feature requests doesn't work because features are implemented by implementer's priority, not by issue priority. If you really want this either work on it yourself or pay someone.

doitDave commentedHi crea, I hope my changes didn't offend you as that was really not my intention. Also thanks for the hint on the "needs work" status, I'll keep that in mind. I'm still a bit unfamiliar with issues, just doing trial-and-error where I am unexperienced ;)
For the priority, of course this is the decision of the maintainer, sorry again! But wouldn't you agree that this is a feature which would really bring a lot of plus?
Also, I will gladly assist if you like. I was unsure whether 1kenthomas is already working on this issue. But if not, I could propose a patch within the next days. What do you think?
Cheers, D.

crea commentedI would prefer if this was released as a separate module (project) because I don't have time for supporting it.
doitDave commentedOk, thank you for the clarification. I will think about that.
On the other hand and just because I appreciate the idea of this module very very much and would like to see it prospering and going on even if you lack time, could you probably imagine someone supporting you as a co-maintainer?
crea commentedI don't need help in terms of basic features and this is very advanced feature, required only by a portion of module users. Most likely, only forum users need their comments moved.

Taxoman commentedHow about a collaboration with http://drupal.org/project/comment_mover ?
crea commentedThis is a complicated feature, which can be implemented separately.

Leeteq commentedGiven the the status and the confirmation by the current maintainer here, ..:
"I have no plans for D7. If someone decides to create a version for D7, he's always welcome to become co-maintainer."

- I think the module category should be changed to "seeking co-maintainers" (also advertise for that with some sentences on the project page), and it would be useful to keep this issue open with its cross-references for the perspective.
