Does this module have significant overlap with http://drupal.org/project/multistep - from the project pages it looks so, but I haven't dug into the code. If so, it has a D7 dev release.

Also, from a code perspective you can take a look at http://www.drupal4hu.com/node/246 for a good reference on how to do multistep in D7.

Added the current code to http://drupalcode.org/project/msnf.git/shortlog/refs/heads/7.x-1.x. This is not working with all field types at the moment (especially date is bugging me) and the integration to entity forms in general is not completed.
