Hi maintainers,

Since a few weeks ago I am co-maintainer of Freelinking module. I found an issue (#870578: [Patch provided] Wikitools failover support: avoids caching issues w/not-found pages) where a patch is provided to create links to new wikitools pages. Furthermore, at Wikitools project page description, Freelinking it is mentioned as a module that could be used by hijacking links.

Before I apply the provided patch at the above issue, could you let me know if the patch still applies? Is there anything else we could do to favour a better integration?

Let's sort this out for both Drupal 6 and Drupal 7 versions.

I am the new maintainer of Freelinking, taking over from juampy.

It now looks like Wikitools is abandoned, so it is unlikely that this will be sorted out. And it is probably not a good idea to implement a patch in Freelinking that relies on an abandoned module.

Instead, I plan to salvage the parts of Wikitools that augments Freelinking, and implement them as a submodule of Freelinking, to be maintained by me along with Freelinking.
