Since several changes have gone in 6.x 1.0 and it has been while, could you please release 6.x 1.1 release?

I now have commit access thanks to #1259578: Offer to maintain 6.x branch so I'm planning to work towards a 1.1 sometime soon.

Feel free to point me to any issues (especially ones with patches) that I should take a look at, there is a lot to sift through at the moment.

Title: Time for 6.x 1.1 release? » Roadmap to a 6.x-1.1 release
Component: Code » Documentation

I have been tagging issues for possible inclusion with a 6.x-1.1 tag.

For now I'd like to focus on getting as many bug fixes in as possible and having new feature requests applied to 7.x before being backported to 6.x.

Priority: Normal » Major

There have been several non-trivial commits since the last release in 2010.

A 1.1 release rolled from the current 6.x-1.x branch would already be a large improvement, and remaining issues could be addressed in 1.2 and future releases.

Currently, distributions wishing to package on Drupal.org have no practical way to include an up-to-date version of User relationships.

My original request was in August 2011 and I felt 1.1 is due then. So now six month later the urgency to get 6.x-1.1 is far higher due to significant number of patches committed. UR Module is strategically important to Drupal eco-system and this needs to get more attention.
so +++++1

If you look at ezra's link in August there were only two commits since the 1.0 release and as far as I can tell they both appear to be very much in edge-case territory.

I definitely think there is a need for a new release and my recent commits were leading up to that.

My main concern is getting the current functionality tested for any big bugs, but as far as I can tell its impossible to get a 1.1 rc published to the project page. How do other projects handle this?

You can still do 1.1 RC it just does not show on the main project page but you can link to it manually. This is how drupal for facebook page is doing it. They have created a manual download section on front page.

Went ahead and published the release, everything passes tests and has been working at least as well as 1.0 so figured a rc would be unnecessary for what is in there.
