I upgraded to the dev version today. Photos are only visible to admin but not for anonymous. I checked the permissions and everything is fine.

One addition to the above. Gallery public status is "public for all" in the GA settings.

I am experiencing the same issue with version 6.x-1.18 of this module. All permissions granted in User permissions and Home › Administer › Site configuration › Gallery Assist › Permission settings. The layout option is set to 'Public for all'.
