it is nice to drop a module and refer to another module, but when I go there I don't find anything that relates to importing Word. Would it mean that I have to use querypath to develop my own Word import filter? Please clarify!

Yes. You can use Querypath to make your own word importer. This is functionality I've wanted for a long time but too much else to do :\
