let me first say that i have had a couple of sites hosted by media temple for a few years with little or no problems. and if an issue arose, they promptly and courteously fixed it. i've referred several of my clients to them and have been a big supporter.
however, am i the only drupal-er plagued by 10-15 seconds of mysql latency on their grid-server? also, after about two months of reprieve, the database errors have returned in the last week. again, is this just me?
i am running a fairly simple, in-development site that only has one user and still my access times continue to be through the roof. is there anything i can do or do i have to hope that their now delayed gmr v1.2 will be the silver bullet that corrects all my woes? i am not so confident since their 'partial completion' has actually made my site run even worse.
thanks for any suggestions and/or support.

the only one
i guess i am the only one who is experiencing trouble, still. and even after they released gmr 1.2 my latency persists.
fyi: the mysql containers that i have been eagerly awaiting were forked out of the gmr 1.2 release. according to an email i received, the containers remain in private beta.

Not alone
My site also went down (well, still is down today, going on 5+ hours) after a 'dynamic database scaling' operation my the extremely unstable GMR 1.2

I have several Drupal sites
I have several Drupal sites hosted at media temple on a gridserver. I have been experiencing outages for the last few weeks. MySQL connections often don't work. Also, sometimes the web service in not reachable. Even on non-Drupal-based websites, the service goes down.
When I report a problem, they send me a link to some post on their blog about outages. That is a week reply to my support requests.
This is very frustrating and I regret switching to them. I'm going to hang in there now as it would be a lot of work for me to move my sites some where else.
mysql containers coming soon
looks like they have set a roll-out date for the new mysql container project. i am optimistically looking forward to this upgrade since i continue to be plagued by latency and am now receiving '500 - internal server errors' intermittently. these just started last week and occur intermittently and seem to correspond to when the mysql connection times out.
i'll let you know if there is any improvement once the new containers are in place.

Hi masande. I just found this post. I have been having similar problems. I am very interested in the Grid container. Have you switched to it? If so, how is it going?
i replied to your thread
i found your thread earlier and replied. take a look at: http://drupal.org/node/143133
i wrote up my complete saga with mediatemple and the remedies that finally got my site running much faster. let me know if you have any questions or if anyone has any other tips on how to optimize a mediatemple grid-server hosted site.
