Erroneous error message, "...currently configured first field will not be shown."

"The drag-handles will be attached to the first field. But the currently configured first field will not be shown."

Below find a snippet of my settings. In each case the first field is Weight (!!). And, selecting weight options (below, 5.1), the field "Exclude from display" is not selected. I guess this is not a bug of operation, a problem of returning a meaningful error.
