cog.rusty CreditAttribution: cog.rusty commentedYes, of course. It is half-done but I have been busy with other things. I prefer not to upload it half-finished, so that I can make cross-references and changes easier. Probably it will be ready in a couple of weeks.
In the meanwhile, I noticed that someone else has uploaded a Greek translation for v5 in the CVS, outside the release system. I didn't have time to check it, I only noticed that it didn't seem to be in utf-8. You could grab it and see.

bestknight CreditAttribution: bestknight commentedPlease post here when you submit either of the translations as complete. Thank you both.

cog.rusty CreditAttribution: cog.rusty commented@fubar: About utf8, compare, for example:

F.U.B.A.R CreditAttribution: F.U.B.A.R commentedYes! You are right, there was a problem with the SmartCVS and the encoding. I fix it and now is UTF-8. Thankw for the info.

cog.rusty CreditAttribution: cog.rusty commentedNice. Now your files are usable, so I created a DRUPAL-5 branch and branched them. Hopefully a 5.x-dev tarball will appear soon.
What is the "el 5.x" subdirectory? Is it for deletion?
cog.rusty CreditAttribution: cog.rusty commentedNo tarball after more than 24h. I committed a "readme" file with an "Under Development" notice just in case that shakes things after the new branch creation.

cog.rusty CreditAttribution: cog.rusty commentedFinally fubar's translation files have been published as a 5.x-1.x-dev release. The problem was an additional "\n" in block module which was rejected by the packager (see issue http://drupal.org/node/109181)
Of course the translation is still incomplete and under development.

GeorgeLitos CreditAttribution: GeorgeLitos commentedI'm doing a re-translation and checking of all the core modules from drupal 5 (utf-8) using TMs from other projects (gnome, KDE and old drupal) babel-fish and spell checking.
Everything is translated (no fuzzy) but I got to spell-check and re-read all the files.
Will upload the files when I'm done and learn what is needed to commit them.

cog.rusty CreditAttribution: cog.rusty commentedThere is a number of people already working on a Greek translation after this discussion
http://mydrupal.gr/node/8
Also take a look at this group
http://groups.drupal.org/Hellas
and subscribe to the mailing list and the project mentioned there to see how you can help. Although many people have cvs access, the release tarball will be a result of that work.

cog.rusty CreditAttribution: cog.rusty commentedI should add that many files have not been translated yet, so many of your files could be valuable. However, because one English string can have only one translation no matter where it appears (either in core or in a contributed module), there must be no conflicts, which requires cross-examining the translations using a glossary of terms which must be compiled.

GoofyX CreditAttribution: GoofyX commentedBeta2 of the translation for the 5.x series is ready. Download it from the project's page. This version translates 100% of the Drupal UI. We're looking forward for a stable release in the near future.
Marking this as fixed.
