Okay after asking too many amateur and dumbest questions I have finally come to see the real power of drupal as a CMS. I am building a Portal (MyUniversity.com thing) for a university, and after reading this http://drupal.org/node/110996 | 'Drupal experiences on university sites' and viewing their website http://cs.byu.edu/ I still dont see Drupal as Powerful Portal. My problem is I have two goals 1. is to manage myUniversity's website content as done by http://cs.byu.edu/ as well as
2. provide a portal interface like Java light Portal Framework https://light.dev.java.net/
in other words I need to combine Portal with Drupal, Now I dont see any good Portral frameworks in php [ I dont know for what reasons ] am I going to able to achieve this by designing custom modules for drupal?
but building a whole lot of Portal framework in a module ? is it the right thing to do ?
and why the hell there arent any good portal frameworks in php ?
Here goes again a bunch of newbie's amateur questions. but I hope ppl here are far more experienced and will help me lead into the right direction. Thanks very much in advance
