Upload Module working but saves files with a random generated name?

I'm using the Upload module that was included with Drupal 5.1 and I can attach zips etc to my Story posts, but when I try to save the attachment to my computer, the filename is all randomly generated with letters. I've checked my files folder and the filename is what the filename is supposed to be. Is this normal? Is there a fix to this?
