I keep having the same problem. I thought it was my hosting company. They are the ones that fix it, but it keeps happening and I want to understand what is going wrong. I just posted a blog article and then all my images disappeared. Oddly the images in the Theme are still there.
When I have called Hostgator's helpdesk they have fixed it by doing something to the .htaccess file. They didn't say what.
Why is this happening? What can I do to permanently fix it? My site is ideabastard.com.
Thanks,
Jason
