I'm super interested in this module and wanted to help at the very minimum by providing a roadmap ticket to take the remaining items off the project homepage and placing it here to track edits/additions/updates.

So here are the currently listed items remaining for the integration

- Display formatter to craft links to Hosted Payment Pages
- Commerce Checkout integration for purchasing subscriptions #1190022: Field for subscription plans and other points of integration
- Local storage and display of subscription details for accounts #1256948: Create drupal account on new subscription?

Also, would this only be applicable to commerce or would the recurly module open up to ubercart as well?

The Recurly module currently has been built to actually function entirely stand-alone. However @blasthaus is working on a Commerce integration module that is quite advanced (fields, Rules integration, subscription products, etc.) but we're likely to separate that from the core Recurly module, which can stand alone with additional enhancements for Commerce (and possibly Ubercart) as separate projects.

The approach of the module has changed significantly from its original intention (I believe) in that the project is now focused on replicating as much functionality of a recurring payment system as possible without any type of local data storage (other than a Drupal ID to Recurly Account mapping table).

I'm going to go ahead and close this issue as the primary obstacle to a stable release at this point is a combination of security (we've got a bunch of permissions that don't actually do anything) and stability (we haven't extensively tested any of the functionality).
