The Requirements page http://drupal.org/requirements page states the minimum disk space ~3MB but Drupal 7.7 is 11MB uncompressed as delivered.

spuky commentedI can't edit the page but a good diskspace paragraph would be:
A minimum base installation requires at least 15MB of disk space but you should assume that your actual disk space will be somewhat higher. For example, if you install many contributed modules and contributed themes, the actual disk space for your installation could easily be 60 MB or more (exclusive of database content, media, backups and other files which should be considerd too when planning for your site).

rivimeyI am happy with spuky's suggested text, though given that my own fairly small D7 site is already 176MB of live content & modules, perhaps even the 60MB figure is conservative. The DB for the same small site is 27MB.
I'd say it was fairly easy to get to 100MB, and 140MB is not at all unreasonable for a small site with a few downloadable files and a variety of site elements.
A compressed backup for content is 76MB, and for DB it is 16MB.

matthews commentedI've updated the page, but would like review please.

rivimeyMatthew, I am fairly happy with the new paragraph - many thanks for changing it.
However I would have preferred a little more detail, and more of a suggestion that 60MB isn't in any sense an upper limit. If you feel that this isn't appropriate, feel free to close.

matthews commentedOk, made it much clearer that you will almost certainly need more than 60 MB of drive space and fixed a spelling typo. Any other specific additions/changes?
