I've had good success with them for my personal site and a few low traffic sites for friends. Drupal 4.7 and 5.1 both run fine. Make backups of you drupal directory and export your drupal database and you shouldn't have too much trouble, although you may have to mess about with different paths and stuff when you move to a new server.

I cab definitely agree with you on that one. We have had our site on fuitadnet.com for quite some time. In fact the first couple of years were decent but recently they have been major headaches. They seem down more times than up and their customer services is sub par. Until I can find a better service I will make the switch but for now since the servers are still up and I don't have the money to move (and we already paid for another year) we're probably going to stay. But I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

For a small site with not much traffic, www.nearlyfreespeech.net is probably unbeatable at the price. Support is excellent when dealing with problems at their end, but they do expect you to be basically computer literate, and they won't hold your hand while you do stuff you ought to be able to do.

one of my small client site has been down for a week and they can't tell me why.

i'm stuck as well there till next nov. I was told there was going to be a new server and stuff. the have this forum that i think is now closed to posting due to the amount of negative stuff they receive. the same promises have been given since 2005. So i guess this is not going anywhere.

My site has been up and down for the past month. They keep telling me that there is a server migration coming and my problem will be solved after that. Well my site has been down for over 24 hours now and there is no way of getting in touch with anyone to fix it since fuitadnet.com is also down. I will most certainly be switching hosts as soon as I can transfer my domain registrations.

i started installing new clients site on a new server. and will eventually transfer all sites from fuidanet in the next few month.

my client site was down for a week and no one could give me an answer and the support use to drop the conversation when i would ask about my clients site.

so at that point i figure there is no way i can on if they can't even answer me a few question or won't answer me.

yeah the migration has been going on for over a few years. if you read their forum it's says there about it but those are dated of 2003.

they suck

Ok so I was with fuitadnet for a year or so. I bought a domain name through them and sadly when I stopped using their service I had set up a admin email address for my domain that I could no longer get to. Short story, my mistake. So I tried to get ahold of anyone at fuitadnet to help me figure out how to change my domain name admin email. Zero luck. The company phone number was 'blocked', over 10 emails over 2 weeks never returned. The day after I told live support that the their phone number didn't work it was taken down off the site. (I love how the company didn't even know their phone number was blocked). Useless/largely unavailable live support. Forum is broken/missing, their own website has things missing... and I love this, the "complaint" button is broken/goes nowhere.

So we have a company with no phone number, not responding to emails, broken home page, and useless live support. Basically I think they are just sucking money out of any customers they have left and employing a skeleton crew to limp along.

Eventually (I'm new to domain concepts) I found out that ENOM was the registrar for fuitadnet. I called them directly, they verified my identity via phone (the phone number doing a WHOIS on my domain still worked, just bad admin email). The folks at ENOM were wonderfull, helpfull and friendly. They stayed on the phone as I signed up with them to renew my domain, cost me $30 bucks but zero hassels. I then pointed my domain to my hosting company and everything works. The new hosting company lunarpages are amazing. Photos of their employees on the website made me guess that they have pride in their work (it's what tipped me to signing with them). They respond to emails within 24 hours (often times multiple times a day), never waited more then 15 min to talk to a live person, and they are friendly as well.

Stay away from fuitadnet, it's a sinking ship. If you find out who your registrar is for your domain, call them directly and get away from this company.

JimCG, i have had a nightmare of a time with freehostia.com i am posting this because i found out that my domain was registered with ENOM, and just as you did, i called them, they told me that it would cost 30 dollars to get control of my domain name again. it doesnt pay to hook up with cheap hosts
