thanks, this patch is very cool!
works great and returns a huge amount of variables.
one question: is it possible to add the token variables to the "change node author" action also? this would help me a lot with my site.
i have node types that contain different "editors" as user reference fields. via tokens the node could be "passed around " in different workflow states.

Re-roll which provides an upgrade path for any email actions that use %author to change that to %author-mail. This patch depends on token module patch http://drupal.org/node/126423 to go in. Also, cleans up some language. This is good to go but will wait for a review.
