Hi All,

Forgive my n00bness, I am completely new to Drupal, but starting to really like it's logic, the way it works, etc., and I am not a programmer. I have never programmed a line of code in my life, but I am quick on the uptake, so I am learning slowly slowly.

That being said, I am working on a personal project, which would create a web directory similar to dmoz, then allow users to rate the different websites, and also to view the contents of different categories in a number of ways.

Before I am able to really play around with some of the things I want, I need to get some basiscs in place:

- is there a way to import the structure of dmoz into the taxonomy of drupal? I have searched and found a great discussion from 2005/2006 when drupal 4.x was the latest and greatest....I am not even going to attempt to follow that logic as I assume there have been massive changes in drupal since 4.x ... I am using 7.7 at the moment.

- is there a way to display, deal with web links? The web links module has a really buggy(nonfunctional) release for drupal 7.x but again...nothing useful, and it doesn't look like there is going to be anything soon....Unless anyone can tell me differently and there is something I have missed....

Basically I would like to be able to drill down into the directory categories, get to the list of sites, select a site, and open a record for it, where I can add fields for reviews, site screenshots, etc....and then aggregate all that information to make it searchable, usable for the user.

Any pointers would be fantastic - apologies if this has been discussed somewhere else, etc....
