It briefly blinks into the text and then quickly back to the image.

Firefox works OK. Also in Google Chrome using key arrows to move cursor into the math has the same problem - blinks into and immediately out of the text. Some quick multi-clicking may sometimes make it stay in the text. Also dragging the selection (when starting outside of the formula) may stay in the text or may keep blinking in-out rapidly.
