Issue Summary
Not everyone has auto-discovering tools and it would be nice when the XML button always points to a valid feed URL for the present term , forum or node (when comment RSS is active).

If I understand correctly, I think you'll find that this is exactly what the feeds from the syndication module (Drupa 5+) do.
