Are there any possibility to configure the Multisite Search to index database content in a mySQL database which is not a Drupal site database? I need to present search results containing results from a Drupal site and a mySQL database from another domain in the same page, the visitor should not have to use different textboxes for searching in different sources nor have to click on different tabs to get results from different databases. Any ideas?

not readily. use DIH or some custom indexing code.
