7.x-2.x-dev Secure Site works for me in Mac FireFox but not Mac Google Chrome or Safari

I'm just putting together a Drupal 7 site and was hoping to use this module on my dev site to keep out prying eyes and search engines but still share the site with my client as I do with my Drupal 6 sites. I really appreciate the ease of use with Drupal 6 version.

Anyways, I just want to let people know that the 7.x-2.x-dev Secure Site works for me in Mac FireFox but not Mac Google Chrome or Safari.

In Chrome and Safari the site loads without CSS and never prompts the user for authentication.

By the way, I'm using this dev version on Barracuda Octopus Aegir install with customized OpenPublic distribution.
