After installing the Zen theme, for Drupal 7.7 there is not 'create sub theme' tab in 'appearance' tab. How do I install this?

Superuser21 commentedI found the way to do it and everything seems installed correctly including the permissions. I check the midnight box, but I don't see a new template. What's up?
Also, there was a tab in the settings to install a sub, so I clicked on it and it gave a file name and went somewhere. Am I to uninstall one of them? in any case, the midnight template did not show up.

Garrett Albright commentedYour questions seem to be all over the place… You said you couldn't see the "create subtheme" tab, but you went ahead and created one anyway. So you can see the tab now?
Also, your site won't automatically switch to the newly-created subtheme after you create it, if that's what you mean by "I don't see a new template." You should see the directory for the new subtheme in your normal "themes" directory, and if you want to switch to it, you'll have to do normally (the same way you switch to any other theme).
Hope this helps, but if not, please focus your questions a bit and ask again.

christopher james francis rodgers commentedHi Garrett:
Rather than start a new issue page,
I thought this as good a place as any
to report to you that Zeno 7x-1.1 seems to be working fine
with Zen 7x-3.1.
Zeno 7x-1.1 with Zen 7.x-5.x-dev (2011-Dec-21), however,
places sidebar-first on the left of the main column even though
I specified in the Zeno options ..
- "Override sidebar and page widths and placement", and
- "Both sidebars on right of main area".
I triple-checked.

Garrett Albright commentedYeah, I haven't done any testing whatsoever with 7.x-5.x. Some breakage is to be expected there. Is it at least showing you the "You're using an unsupported version of Zen" warning?
christopher james francis rodgers commentedYes I did see the "You're using an unsupported version of Zen" warning.

I am still surprised to be still seeing "sidebars.css" following "fresh.css" in the order of the css files called when I look at 'page source'; whereas fresh.css used to be the last css file called before the final one: print.css.
I am curious if this was an error/oversight; or was intended by you for some reason that a newbie like me can not fathom.

As always,
All the best.
