I was created content type "events". Events content type has field as "public date". I want default public date as now (date m\dd\yy when I created content).

You can create a content type
You can create a content type called "events" in which you can add a field as "date" type and in default now date setting you can use "current date" as setting which will display current date in date field which adding a node. For this you need to use date module to work.
