Insert Node Submit Form into Block or Mission Statement

Is there an html or php snippet that can be inserted into a block or mission statement or footer that would let nodes be created w/out having to go to the standard node/add page?
Perhaps you could just view
Perhaps you could just view the source of the add page and then insert the appropriate code into a block?
Drupal's so easy, even I could do it.
