I've installed 4.7.x-3.0 and all seems to be working. I've created a product (tangible) and now want to add a variation (signed/unsigned) but can't see to work out where/how.
Going to admin/store/settings/variation gets the message
Please choose a product type from the task list. From there you can setup variations and attributes for the product types.
But no links, no help, no pointers to where the 'task list' might be found. I've been round and round the documentation but it's largely pre-V3.
Could someone please point me in the right direction?

genwolf commentedI am also having this problem - I can only assume that a form that should be getting injected into the page is not being injected.

robertgarrigos commentedYou need to use a product type that supports subproducts. Right now there is only one: apparel. Activate apparel module and you will see a new tab (it's not actually a list what you are looking for although it says task list)

csc4 commentedThanks for the answer - but I'm surprised you say it is 'fixed' - I'm not selling apparel!! and my users are really not going to understand having to sell tangible products as clothing!!
Please can this restriction be reconsidered? Surely non-apparel products frequently have variations?
Also - could the sub product message make some reference to this - or a link to a help file?!

robertgarrigos commentedYou can use apparel module to create a new one with the name you want for your subproduct type. Change every 'apparel' entry for the name you want to use and save your new module. Remember to do so for yourmodule.module and yourmodule.info and you will have a new module with your requirements. If you ar not confortable with coding let me know what's the name of the module you would like to have and I'll help you out.

csc4 commentedThank you - that's a really kind and generous offer but I think I can do those sorts of changes, if not I'll let you know (now free tagging taxonomy issues on the other hand!)
Though I still think it would be nice if eCommerce shipped a 'non-apparel' apparel module to save us all the confusion and legwork! and the sub product message was changed...
