I have three questions. An affirmative answer to any one of them will allow me to do what I want.

1. Is it possible to get the NID of the node that is about to be created from the "node add" form, but before the form is submitted?
2. Is it possible to get the NID of the node that was just created, if you don't end up viewing that node's page?
3. Is it possible to persist a context beyond the submission of a "node add" form?

My desire is to:
-be viewing a node
-click a "add related" link
-be taken to the node creation form
-upon submission of form create a relationship between the nodes and be taken back to the original node I was viewing
(Please note, I will be using the Relation module, and so solutions for this task that make use of Node Reference are not applicable.)
