manfer commentedThe click to close the shadowbox overlay must be outside the image that is being displayed. So to close the image you have two options, clicking the X button or clicking outside the image.
If clicking outside the image does not close the overlay then it is a problem of a specific browser (Operating system, browser and version) because in all browsers I checked it works fine.
