After updating to the latest version of Location (7.x-3.x dev) I get the error,
Warning: getimagesize(sites/all/modules/gmap/markers/shadow.png) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in _gmap_get_icondata()

After copying the file from elsewhere to the relevant directory, it went away.
To avoid this happening in future simply needs to have the shadow.png file in the gmap/markers directory as part of the gmap package.. (A version currently exists in gmap/markers/small and gmap/markers/big)

Same problem here:

Warning: getimagesize(sites/default/modules/stoneridge_data_presentation/gmap/markers/4): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in _gmap_get_icondata() (line 104 of sites/all/modules/gmap/gmap_markerinfo.inc).

It crashed after invoked update.php
