Could somebody please point me in the direction of a Best Practice Guide to updating a contrib module to the latest version? There musts be one in the handbooks or somewhere but it seems to be managing to elude me!

1) read the README.txt and or INSTALL.txt
2) replace old module folder with new module folder
3) run update.php

It's really that straight-forward?! Fantastic!

That's how I had approached it, but it all felt a little too easy and I was wondering if it was just luck that meant it had all worked smoothly for me so far and I was going to run into trouble eventually!
