Someone else has made a similar suggestion for v.4.7 all be it under a title that didn't ake it clear to me what it was.
Basically implementing this would mean the admin is presented with a full hierarchical list of vocabularies and sub terms (or an expanding number of separate js controlled select boxes to drill down through) to select the absolute position of where new terms are placed. This would mean the full organisational power of the taxonomy module could be used in conjunction with this module.
I hope this can be implimented in 5.1 as well.

Zen commentedYou can more or less already do this by assigning the NAT vocabulary to the NAT node type. For e.g., if you want all nodes of type foo to have a term automatically created in vocabulary bar, besides setting up the NAT association, you could set the associated node types for bar (via its vocabulary edit screen) to include foo, and make the vocabulary hierarchical to boot. This will allow you to set the parent during node creation.
Marking this "duplicate" in light of the above. Please reopen if need be. I am also not convinced of the practical value of specifying a predefined vocabulary insertion point on the NAT configuration page.
