Hello,

when using the User-Read only module, I have configured a filed to be allowed for certain roles. When not allowed, it should be disabled.
If I edit the account with a user having the allowed role, all id fine.
When I edit the account with a user not having the allowed role, then the field is hidden.

What could be the problem/issue?

Hi!
Subscribing, having similar issue.
When I configure certain roles, to have disabled fields, it's doesn't works.
Fields thats should be read only, they are not.

The problem occurred if the module is used with the core profile module. If used with profile2 module, then the field is correctly disabled instead of hidden. Disabled means that it can't be edited, but it's still not grayed out. The field is of type "date" drawed as "text".

i am using Drupal version 7.9. I want user profile edit page username field readonly. I am trying to make the username field Disable using this module. i did the configuration but i am still getting the username field re-writable. its not making any field Hidden or disable. any idea why?

Patch fixes issue where fields of type text and text_long are not recognized in hook_form_alter() and are therefore hidden when they have been configured to be disabled (i.e. read-only). NOTE: fix is applied to 7.x-1.5
