Hi this is a great module, is there a possibility to add functionality for a hostel satiation?
Hostels have Dorm rooms where customers book beds instead of the entire room, is it possible to book out beds in a room.

Would be interesting to get some more information on this.

Just off the top of my head I guess it could be set up so that a Bookable Unit Type represents a room in a hostel (rather than a type of room) and then every Bookable Unit of that type would represent a bed. But I have a feeling it is not as simple as that :-)

it works like that, "Bookable Unit Type represents a room in a hostel".

But for "see" "beeds available" is quite messy or not easy.

Do you advice something to it?

Subscribing. As of posting this message, @bluesparklabs has already release rooms v1.

I suppose someone will eventually help build a hostel-oriented feature pack with Rooms v1.x

I'm interested to help with this, but I need specs (use cases, hostel booking types, etc.) to aid in the development of the hostel-related selections/units.

Definitely interested in working on this @marcrobinsone - I would start by considering a Room in a hostel to be a Room Type and Units within that type representing individual beds. Every bookable unit has the capability to have max 1 person / min 1 person and children obviously zero.

An add-on module could simply clear up the interface on this - would love to hear what other requirements there are that Rooms doesn't satisfy right now.

I think we're hung up on vocabulary, I'm using this in a multi-resort situation where in 'Bookable Unit Type' is actually an individual resort. So the Unit Type becomes "White Sands Resort" and the 'Bookable Units' become units in each resort. So instead of the unit type being a 'double queen' it's the actual resort "White Sands Resort".
In the same way for your hostel 'Bookable Unit Type' would be 'Room 1' and the bookable units become 'bed 1', 'bed 2' etc. The same structure applies. Then render the results as by unit instead of by unit type and it kinda works itself out.
Perhaps I'm over-simplifying?
I mean I understand the need to make it easy for the operators, but then why not just add a vocabulary 'filter' for what you want to display a unit type label and a unit. It's just a hierarchy the names themselves are never shown to the end user.
I mean for all intents and purposes these could be "parks" and 'benches'. data is data right?
