Installation of the Content API module is like any other Drupal module:

Download Content API
Place the files in your Drupal site's /sites/all/modules directory. This will create the module in the “contentapi” folder.
Download and install prerequisite modules:
- Services 3.x
- REST Server (included in Services)
- Chaos Tools
- Autoload
Navigate to the module installation page (Administer -> Site Building -> Modules) and check the box by “Content API” under “Services - Resources”. It is assumed you have all the prerequisite modules installed
Click the “Save Configuration” button at the bottom of the page to install the module.
