I am getting this error when attempting to import:

warning: getimagesize() [function.getimagesize]: Read error! in /xxx/modules/image/contrib/image_import/image_import.module on line 82.

make sure you have permissions to read and write all the files in the import directory. if that's not the problem, please re-open this issue.
