It appears that nodes marked as private are only visible to the admin. They are not visible to the user who created them.

I forgot to mention - when the private module is activated on my site, I am the only person (the admin) that can see any nodes with the privacy option - whether the private box is checked or not.

Okay, to better explain the problem - when the private module is active, the admin is the only person who can see any nodes submitted where the privay box is an option, whether it is checked or not. Not even the author of a node can see it. You get the error message 'access denied'.

Marking this as closed-outdated as the 5.x version is no longer supported and I don't think this issue affects the 6.x and later versions.
