Split User Relationships Into Separate Feature

Hi.

First off, thanks for all the work that's being but into drupal commons. I think it's a great project. One suggestion I have it to split "User Relationships" into a separate feature. I'm building a social site for a more professional community, for which the user relationships really aren't appropriate. I'd be happy to try and separate the relationship code into a separate feature (which I may end up doing anyway), but I'm wondering if this is something that the drupal commons community would be open to.
