OK...so I know this might look like a newbie question at first...but it's a bit more complicated than that.

I am aware of the tracker module and I am aware of Views built in 'Node has new content' filters.

The problem is...I don't want unread posts to include posts that have NEW comments. My users get annoyed when a new node pops up in their unread list that they've already seen and maybe already commented on.

How can I display a list of unread posts that DO NOT include new comments or revisions to the node? I just want a list of posts that have not been seen yet by the user.

there might be a solution for setting what anonymous and authenticated users can do or cannot do.

I'm not really clear what you mean here. This would only be for authenticated users.

I mean in the permission page, you can set the access right for authenticated users
