I would like to integrate this module to work with Image module and display same images (with "hover" effect) using Views. Currently, "hover" formatters are available only from ImageField, and there is no way to display those effects on images from Image module.

I assume this would be possible if Imagecache presets integrate with Image module. Here is an open discution about this: http://drupal.org/node/231622 .

This is not something I would have an interest in creating. If you or someone else creates a patch please re-open and we can consider merging it, otherwise marking as won't fix.
