Alinks has the functionality I seek, but I am worried that this module has been abandoned and, if so, there will be no future support. Is anyone contemplating becoming the maintainer? Are others using this module on a production site without any issues?
I was considering the Link Intelligence module, but some comments regarding issues with the module caused me to hesitate, and glossify, the other option, also seems to have been abandoned.
Comments? Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

joebachana commentedI've been using this module for a few years with great success and I like it a lot. It is pretty straightforward. I'm considering taking over maintenance of it, but I haven't fully committed. Just been going through the issue queue.
If you have a v6 site it's a reliable module to use, but yes, you'll need to use it at your own risk at this point until *somebody* steps forward to take over maintenance.

IncrediBody.com commentedThanks for the reply Joe. Can you tell me if the module allows for target_blank in case I wish to open a separate window, and whether I can specify title tags for SEO purposes?
I will be using Drupal 6, and am just weary of abandoned modules because of potential unresolved security issues or conflicts that I would not be able to address. I suppose since this module merely renders the links upon page display, if there is an issue, I could disable the module without needing to make any changes to my site, except if I have any essential links that I would then need to add manually.
Also, what if I have a certain term hard-coded with a link in a certain node, and some or part of that link is used in Alinks, what would the module do? Does the fact that it's already linked force the module to ignore that particular instance, or will this result in some type of error or unexpected occurrence?\
I encourage you to take over maintenance of this module, if for no other reason than it's VERY useful to Drupal users and I cannot find another that is being maintained with this functionality.
Thanks again for your help!

pianomansam commentedIncrediBody.com, there isn't much hope for these issues being resolved, but I reported new window bug and my quick investigation here: #1759046: External links don't open in new window

greg boggsI am maintaining this module, though I'm focused on the D7 version and a possible D8 release as D6 will be end of life soon.
