Since upgrading to the new [Sept 28] 7.x-2.x-dev release of Media, I notice that the thumbnail preview image no longer appears on the media edit display. Instead: a generic file icon.

I was searching around for a solution to show a preview in the file edit area.

Perhaps there is no solution - perhaps there should be a solution. Before I go any further I thought I would chime in with the community.

This is being handled by #1055986: Add a preview sidebar to the media edit screen now.
