Customizable home page (content adding, draggable blocks)

Hi all,

I'm helping design a Drupal-managed website and was wondering what is available out there in terms of home page customization?

We'd like to be able to allow users to arrange and add blocks however they would like. The portal module is a good example of what we would like to do.

Is there anything out there yet that can do this or something similiar? And if so, will it work with Drupal 5.1? From what I hear, the portal module isn't updated for 5.1 yet.

We've tested some alternatives (MySite, Panels) but they don't seem to do exactly what we want.

Any help would be much appreciated!
