I'm running front_page on 4.7.6 and it usually works great (thanx), but sometimes when I come back to my site via Internet Explorer v7 the next day as a guest the proper front_page is not displayed, but instead I get a themed "Page not found" error. Simply going to admin->settings->front_page and clicking on the "Save Configuration" button w/out my doing any additional config to it seems to do the trick-- it then displays the proper front page again.
My settings are as follows:
Front Page for anonymous user
Body: <!-- welcome -->
Select type: redirect
Redirect to: node/122
Allow embedded PHP code in front page for authenticated users [checked]
I haven't yet noticed this happen when I come back to the site as a logged in user, but will do additional testing to see.
Thanks,
KV

kleppten commentedI have the same issued. After some time, the content for anonymous users is not displayed anymore. Instead the front_pages shows
"Article
2"
When i go to the front_page conf page everything is in place. Only afer re-saving the whole stuff, the front_page comes back for some time.
To dissappear after some hours again.
I emptied and even disabled cache and sessions, but with no results...
Any ideas?
Eric

Dublin Drupaller commentedhi guys. I'm having difficulty re-creating the problem you guys are having. Can someone email me through a link to their site (or email me with a temporary admin login) so I can see if it's something to do with cache or it is something to do with the front_page.module. I'm guessing it's the former, i.e. a cache issue, but, I'm unable to recreate the problem at the moment so it's difficult to work out what might be causing it.
thanks

krisvannest commentedHey Dub, thanks for looking into it-- I actually haven't been able to duplicate this one myself, even though I originally posted on it! I think it's 'cause I no longer use multiple themes-- I previously allowed users to switch between themes (using Switch Theme mod... not saying that was the prob, but that's what I used) and since I stopped actually allowing that or even switching themes myself, I haven't encountered the "have to refresh/reset Frontpage mod" error as indicated above/here. Still in development myself, but maybe I can send you a link or something when I'm further along.
Thanks much,
KV
