Auto-logoff when clicking primary link

ni - November 15, 2004 - 22:13

Just set up drupal 4.5.0 and I have a very odd problem. Whenever any user logs on, clicks a primary link ( lets say Home) they get automatically logged off, then sent to the page. Is this supposed to happen? And if so, how do I turn it off?

Just to update this: it is ON

Just to update this: it is ONLY when clicking on the Home primary link that any user gets loged off.

HTTP Cache

It could be that your users are seeing the front page from before they logged in. This can be due to a cache at the server-side, client-side or ISP-side.

There has been talk about modifying .htaccess to set a very short timeout on dynamic pages, but I haven't followed it.

Trailing Slash Helps

I have this same problem. It mostly happens when I transition from the side of my site that's just flat HTML and back to the home page of the Drupal subsite, which I have installed in a subdirectory. I have had some luck alleviating this problem by adding a trailing slash to any links I have to the root folder of my Drupal site.

For example, my Drupal site is in a subdirectory called community. So when I make a link, I don't go to /community instead I go to /community/. For some reason that makes a difference.

HTH,
Dan
