Please can anyone help?
I was stupid enough to delete all files from my root folder. After restoration from backup nothing was working until I upgraded to v5. Now things are almost back to normal (except I've lost all my recent updates of course).
The problem is that my frontpage shows all image nodes with the Preview images, whereas it used to show Thumbnails.

So my homepage is out of kilter and not so easy to browse. I can't remembr now if this is default drupal behaviour that I managed to fix previously, but even if so, I can't work out how to fix this. I've spent a few hours trawling round but can't find a fix for this specific problem.

I have another question if anyone could clear it up too.....once you upgrade to v5 from v4.7, how do you ensure all your modules etc are up to date and working? I have had to download and re-install all my modules. Was that just because I deleted them, or is there another way of upgrading?

By default, drupal 5 will not show comments, ect at frontpage but instead only a link to show them. There does not appear to be a setting to fix this.

install the Update Status module

Thanks for the Update module.

But my Thumbnails problem still exists. Can anyone please tell me how to fix it so Thumbnails show on front page instead of Preview images?

There was a big bad issue with image.module for a week or two. Images reverted to fullsize after editing.
It was patched yesterday. Get the latest image.module.

thanks dan, I've got that update now, but the same problem is happening.

Without knowing the state of your database restore, it's hard to say.
Are you sure it's preview size and not original size?

Could be you need the thumbnails re-generated - this can be done by changing the dimensions on the image admin settings.
Or open image, and save it again.

Otherwise it's something with your theme I guess, although if you've got a fresh start I guess not.

you're right - it is showing original images on frontpage, not thumbnails or previews - that is, when I upload a new image.
However where I had thumbnails before, it is either showing previews or originals.

I think I will put up with the problem for previous posts, but I would like to fix it for NEW posts so that I have thumbnails again.

So for NEW posts....
it IS generating the .thumbnail.jpg file alright, but is showing .jpg on the frontpage.
I no longer get any .preview.jpg's generated.

Also, the images on the frontpage (either new ones, or older ones) do not act as hyperlinks to the node anymore.

This is all very confusing to me and I'm reluctant to upgrade any other site to v5.

I tried changing line 287 of image.module to 'thumbnail' instead of 'preview' and this almost works! It gives me thumbnails on my front page (still not hyperlinks) and when I click thru to the node I get a 'thumbnail' option. When I click this it gives me options to see the previews and originals. (although both links point to the original image). Same in Firefox and IE.

I don't think this is the right solution, but it might be a hint?

I upgraded my Images module and now the front page is showing Thumbnails, when it used to show Preview. How do I change what my front page displays?
