In Drupal 8 entity has been moved from entity.inc into a module (see http://drupal.org/node/1018602).

Now $ drush updb crash with:

Drush command terminated abnormally due to an unrecoverable error.                                             [error]
Error: require_once(): Failed opening required '/var/www/html/includes/entity.inc' in
/opt/drush/commands/core/drupal/update.inc, line 153
