Is working happening on getting mailchimp easily integrated with other forms on the website, e.g. webform or just custom forms in Drupal 7?

There is no work being done re: WebForm integration, although it can easily be done at the moment using hook_form_alter() in a webform, or any other form on the site. The module provides abstracted API calls to perform the necessary operations. We don't have imminent plans for a mailchimp_webform module, but it would be welcome and fairly straightforward if someone wants to work something up.
