Javascript code is shown when I enable a block in the header of the template. Any ideas why?

Check the order of your filters, under input formats.

What order should they be in? Currently they are in the default positions?

I am also using one of the adsense supplied blocks and attached is a picture with the problem and the adsense filter is enabled.

How come the javascript shows, yet the ad shows well too?

Can you check the HTML source when this happens and see if some special characters are being escaped?

This is a known issue with the Garland theme. There is a patch in issue 102252. It would be helpful to review that patch.
