Commons needs a 3 column theme [#1305906]

Hi,
I think it is very important for the Commons to have a 3 column layout-theme.
Is Commons going to have such a theme?
If so,what is the progress of it?

Realistically we are unlikely to make a new theme in Commons 2.x, however we are likely to re-include Panels in Commons 7.x-3.x, which would make this a configurable option.
